More than 2 dozen dead after tornadoes rip through American southwest

Residents across the American South and Midwest on Sunday raced to assess the destruction of possibly dozens of tornadoes and countless storms that killed at least 26 people.

Confirmed or suspected tornadoes in at least ten states destroyed homes and businesses, flattened trees and laid waste to neighborhoods across the country.
