Weston and Loblaws are words that should never be placed in a sentence with 'doing the right thing'.

Ha! I've been telling the city mixing bikes with traffic in this manner is a BAD IDEA. Very stupid city officials.

Only Chow could walk up to a microphone and blame business owners for the weather lol

RIP lady, she was just using bike share like anyone else and only 24. Please share her name so we can pay our respects. Removing the bin now is a bit too late but hopefully the pain was short

Flooding has been happening in these areas for decades, maybe a major road built in a valley beside a river wasnt such a great idea?

A parking lot is not the reason the infrastructure isn't up to snuff with the city approved development.

I used to live in Japan for a couple of years and I felt so safe biking there. I would never bike as freely here in Toronto. Cars in Japan even drive on the right side and i still felt safe biking there. Toronto, I could never. Even with bike lanes. No one looks at their blindspots here and EVERYONE uses their phone.

Let's discuss cycling safety in downtown Toronto rather than blaming the city for placing the bin in the bike lane. I've been both a cyclist and a downtown driver and most cyclists have a complete disregard for cars they share the road with or the pedestrians they weave around. Cyclists need to be taught bike safety. We never want to place responsibility and accountability on the cyclist. Heaven forbid a cyclist takes responsibility for their own safety!!!

Firstly Condolences to the lady who lost her life. Talking about obstructions in the bike lanes you say, what about you cyclists are riding on the sidewalks and have the gall to ask pedestrians to move over so you can pass. Millions of taxpayers money went into making the bike lanes in which the cyclists are not using. It’s also the bike lanes that make the roads and traffic more busy.
