This is a man that is offering his perspective on building a bugout bag ON A BUDGET as a newby. It is what it is. I admire the man for realizing the need to build a bugout bag, and his desire to help others. You can take his suggestions, until you can afford to upgrade some of the gear. Any gear is better than no gear, and he actually has things well organized. Personally, I thought he has some good ideas, and (again) I admire him for his intention on taking his bag out in the woods for some real world experience. BTW, I am ex-military, and an outdoorsman.

I appreciate this video bud. You weren't on here waxing on about a bunch of "bugout, prepping-philosophical" bullshit. The fact that you're putting forth an effort to be prepared gives you an edge up on all the nay sayers which gives you a much stronger disposition in the event you need it. Over time you will refine your kit and evolve your prepared state which I give you a long-range high-five. Keep up the good work.

Good video! Another good item to carry would be a bandana. Can be used for warmth, filtering water, collecting fire starter material on you way to your camping location etc.

Pretty good kit . If seen my first bag you would have rolled in the floor . Only suggestion I have is spring for a GI poncho . Wire hangers is a fantastic idea.
I'm in Southeast Tennessee, have gotten into North Georgia a few times .
Watch out for the wild hogs !
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Nice. I have a smaller bag inside of My main bag. For scouting, but redundant with smaller items. Man that jute takes a good spark too! Cordage and tender. When You balance out, You'll have both Urban, and Bush survival skills 💪😎

You can get a good wool blanket from Harbor Freight for cheap. It isn't 100% wool, but it will do the job

Great start ! RAIN GEAR ! You have access to Gortex rain pants and jacket, yes? Get a quality poncho too. Wrap all your sub-kits in plastic. It will rain ! Expect Bug-Out to occur in the worst weather, ok? A quality hatchet will gain you access to dry fire wood inside of standing dead trees, even if the tree is wet/frozen on the outside. The clothes hanger idea wins you a STAR ! Good job.

I feel like I watched this video and commented like when it first came out but maybe not lol, the bug spray thing is because alot of bug spray contains deet which can melt plastic or nylon gear and pemrethrin is the way to go thats what I use and it actually works very very well definitely recommend trying it out but keep that little bottle of spray also but don't add more spray lol.

Every journey begins with the first step! 😎

One suggestion is to use coffee filters as a pre filter for sediment.

Awesome first

Try tealight candles. The coat hanger is a great idea that I'll use too.

You did a great job for your first time! Keep it up. Also, add some first aid items.

I did same when started, dollar store are great. I found e.ergancy candles at mine. 6- 6 hour candle for dollar.
Food beef jerky instead of cans. Knorr packs with jerky is awesome.
Practice and learn. I like the pack, defence is important

I made a 3 day bag of cheap Amazon items and things I could find around the house. Once I had a complete bag that I knew I could get by on, I started researching the individual components of the bag, then replacing some of the lower quality items with higher quality items. I cant afford to throw a few grand at a bug out bag, but I can piece together something over time.

I like the hangar. Sometimes a hangar can just be used as a...hangar.

Glad to see you're thinking about being prepared. One thing I like about this bag it the fact that it has actual MOLLE webbing and not that laser cut webbing. I have both and I can tell you that the "old school" webbing is much more durable

Great idea to build your bag around your firearms which is a big part of a bugout situation !
