Universal Salvation, A Five Point Defense

Universal Salvation, a Five Point Doctrine. More properly named Universal Restoration, which is a type of Christian Universalism that views afterlife punishment and the metaphors of this punishment as pointing to a future restoration of all creation through Christ. This doctrinal outline is a defense of this theory within Christian Soteriology. Universal Restoration is a soteriological theory that stands in contrast to Calvinism, Arminianism, and Molinism. Although some of the concepts related to those theories could be incorporated into Universal Restoration, which is viewed as more of a process.

It takes, sometimes years to unlearn what the 'church' taught us but after 34 years, I finally knew in my heart there is no Father, either on earth or in heaven, who would allow anyone to burn and be tortured forever in endless fire. That, for me changed my view of the Father forever. ❤

I've been a Christian for nearly thirty years, and I still struggle with the concept of hell. It doesn't help that for 25 of those years were spent in a very legalistic, works-based church that was unwaveringly open in their teaching of the eternal punishment doctrine. Then my dad passed away 3 years ago, without having been baptized or saved in any way. The perspective you're teaching here gives me hope. This is a short video, and I'd like to find more credible material like this to really understand and accept this paradigm, and to undermine the conflict in my soul. I want to hope.

Gotta say good stuff, I stumbled across your channel, and it's making me reexamine my faith.

I recently was talking to my buddy from the corps who asked me about my faith, I explained I used to be devout, however I wrestle with the concept of hell due to meeting people in my time in the USMC who don't deserve infinite punishment. Hell, what about my brothers and sisters who died in war or committed suicide due to tramua? What about my Muslim friends who are still very good people and fought with me? Why would my God torture them for eternity?

It felt good to explain what the Bible actually says about God and how the relationship with God is more important then the letter of the law so to speak. Ie you do things for the Lord because you love him not because you have to.

It felt good to talk about the lord and my friend who's an aithiest was really receptive, which shocked me. He told me he's never even heard ministers answer his questions so well. By that same token you explain this question I've had so well.

I'm seriously self reflecting and am reassessing my faith. You're really helping me along that journey. I have no excuse to be lukewarm on Christ anymore. I am once again a Christian.

I lean towards universal restoration because it seems to make sense with God's character as described in the Bible, but sometimes I feel like I'm buying into it because I just want it to be true.

Yes, God will lose NONE to an adversary He created...

Luke 3:6 and ALL flesh shall see the salvation of God.

2 Peter 3:9 the Lord is not slow in regard to the promise, as certain count slowness, but is long-suffering to us, not counseling any to be lost but ALL to pass on to reformation.

1 Timothy 4:10 for this we both labor and are reproached because we hope on the living God, who is Savior of ALL men -- *especially of those believing. *(Those believing are raptured)

Romans 5:18 So, then, as through one offense to ALL men it is to condemnation, so also through one declaration of 'Righteous' it is to ALL men to justification of life.

John 12:32 and I, if I may be lifted up from the earth, will draw ALL men unto myself.

1 Corinthians 15:22 for even as in Adam ALL die, so also in the Christ, ALL shall be made alive.

Titus 2:11 For the saving grace of God was manifested to ALL men.

Revelation 20:14 and the DEATH and the HADES (grave) were cast into the lake of the fire -- this is the second death. (No more death, no more graves)

Ephesians 1:10 in regard to the dispensation of the fullness of the times, to bring into one the whole in the Christ, both the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth -- in him.

Romans 11:32 for God did shut up together the WHOLE to unbelief, that to the WHOLE He might do kindness.

John 12:47 and if any one may hear my sayings, and not believe, I -- do NOT judge him, for I came not that I might judge the world, but that I might SAVE the world.

1 John 4:8 he who is not loving did not know God because God is love. (if God is love, how could God unjustly torture most of His creation for all eternity?)

1 Timothy 2:4 who doth will ALL men to be saved, and to come to the full knowledge of the truth. (does God get what He wills or is He tricked by sinners?) Isaiah 55:11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Colossians 1:20 and through him to reconcile ALL things to himself -- having made peace through the blood of his cross -- through him, whether the things upon the earth, whether the things in the heavens.

Philippians 2:10 that in the name of Jesus EVERY knee may bow -- of heavenlies, and earthlies, and what are under the earth.

1 Corinthians 15:28 and when ALL things may be subjected to him, then the Son also himself shall be subject to Him, who did subject to him ALL things, that God may be the ALL in ALL.

Romans 14:11 for it hath been written, 'I live! saith the Lord -- to Me bow shall EVERY knee, and EVERY tongue shall confess to God.

John 1:29  on the morrow John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, 'Lo, the Lamb of God, who is taking away the sin of the WORLD.

Isaiah 25:8 He hath swallowed up death in VICTORY And wiped hath the Lord Jehovah, The tear from off ALL faces, And the reproach of His people He turneth aside from off all the earth, For Jehovah hath spoken.

1 John 4:14 And we -- we have seen and do testify, that the Father hath sent the Son -- Savior of the WORLD.

1 John 2:2 and He -- He is a propitiation for our sins, AND NOT FOR OURS ONLY, but also for the WHOLE WORLD.

1 Peter 4:6 for this also to dead men was good news proclaimed, that they may be judged, indeed, according to men in the flesh, and may live according to God in the spirit

The document which undergirds this video is a great resource. May it have a wide circulation and enlighten many about the true gospel of the great God.

But I also decided on 6 Points since I prefer Hexagrams to Pentagrams.

Total Depravity: God has consigned All to Disobedience so that he might have Mercy on All. Romans 11:32, Romans 5:11-21, Matthew 9:9-12, John 6:44, John 12:32.

Absolute Atonement: Jesus is the Atonement for our Sins but not of ours only but of The Whole World. 1 John 2:2, 1 Timothy 2:4, 4:10, John 3:16, Hebrews 2:9.

Unconditional Grace: Grace ultimately benefits even those who resist it because God is not willing that any should Perish and the Gates of New Jerusalem are never closed even though not everyone will be immediately inside of it. 1 Timothy 2:6, Revelation 21-22. Matthew 18:14, 2 Peter 3:9.

Finite Punishment: Leviticus 26:42-45 and Deuteronomy 30 make clear that God’s judgments on Israel do not remove His promise to inevitably restore them, this is reaffirmed in Malachi 3 when he says his Fire is to purge and purify the Sons of Levi. Ezekiel 16 promises the inevitable restoration of even Sodom. Habakkuk 1:12 says God’s punishments are for correction. Psalm 30:5 says God’s anger is for but a moment and Psalm 103:9 says his Anger will not last “forever” but later verse 17 says his Mercy lasts from Age to Age. In Matthew 5:26 and 18 34 Jesus defines punishment as being until a debt is paid. Luke 12:46-48 is consistent with that but adding in agreement with 2 Peter 2:22 that punishments for sinful believers will be worse than for nonbelievers. 1 Corinthians 3:15 confirms there will be a judgment of works but even those consumed are still saved.

Perseverance of The Shepherd: The Good Shepherd will find all his Sheep and none shall pluck them out of his hand. Matthew 18:12-14, Luke 15:3-7, John 10:28-29.

Christ Victorious: 1 Corinthians 15 defines The Gospel as The Resurrection and is clear that all will be Resurrected and that Death and Hades will have no Victory in agreement with other Scriptures. Revelation 20, Isaiah 25:8, Hosea 13:14.

People either accept Christ and avoid being refined in the lake of Fire, or go through and receive exactly the punishment that is required for their sin

Now all this needs is an acrostic. Here's my proposal: LADAD
Love of God
Authority of the faithful
Death abolished
Age abiding correction
Direct passage for the followers

I love your videos, thank you for your work! I have a question about point 5.

How do we tie this in with verses like “everyone will be salted with fire”? It seems like even believers will go through a process in which their empty works will be burned away. But then there is some verse about believers coming to full knowledge in a blink of an eye.

The best attack I heard is that Jesus said that it would have better for Judas if he had not been born.

Agreeing on this may not be a requirement for salvation, but I still think that the Hell doctrine has turned many away from Christ's true nature because they believe it is proper theology, and THAT is how improper theology can lead to Jesus losing some in his first "top" layer of people being called and saved now. Then again, god knew what miscommunications would take place due to human error, and he is calling those who either endure despite not understanding certain concepts, or those like us who knew who he truly is and decided to dig into deeper research to find out just how right we were.

Love this! Any resources that expounds upon what you said in point #3 about death being defeated for even unbelievers? Unto what kind of body are they resurrected? (Acts 24:15) Only the just receive glorified bodies? I only see one other option…

Question. And it might be a dumb one. But since Universal Restoration is not a critical church doctrine, which critical church doctrine do you subscribe to, if any?
