Today we’re going to talk about a very useful tool known as the Arduino serial monitor.

First, we’re going to do a quick overview on serial communication, then we’ll jump over to the Arduino IDE, write some code and demonstrate the Arduino serial monitor.

The Arduino IDE comes with a serial library built in. A library is a bunch of similar functions that come in one neat, tidy package.
