Does Deep Value Investing Still Work?

I think deep value really shines in the private companies where takeover is opaque.
Hard to find deep value in the publicly traded companies.
The problem with net-net companies these days is the asset valuation.
Distressed assets is always about asset valuation from historical to mark-to-market.
The only place I know where the companies are really undervalued is Japan.
I have so much deep value but that is because they were at a discount during COVID.
I think Intel is Deep value right now and everyone hates it. It will take time for the production facilities to run.
My other deep value is Yangarra Resources, from Alberta. So cheap because they have low cashflow and are investing in more wells. I am bullish on small energy companies.

Right now I am thinking about the Japanese video game stocks. Square enix holding for example have no debts and liabilities.

Some of the core rules for net net investing that I believe are not implemented on the script for the name I saw on the list:

- No Chinese Stocks
- No Companies with business in China
- At least 1 Million market cap
- Less than 100 million preferably
- No NYSE stocks
- Low Burn Rate of NCAV Year over year (less than 25%)
- Must have traded above NCAV in the last 3 years
- Positive net income in the last 10 years at least 1 time
- No oil, pharma, financial, real estate, banks or insurance and adr companies

Almost all of these you can find tests online proving to improve the performance of the companies

Not sure if it is something you can implement in a script
