The battery on the Moto Z Play is amazing- even without the battery mod.I've been using the Z Play as my daily driver, ever since I had to give up my Note 7.

I have no complaints about how thick the phone is.

Excellent review, I recently picked up a Z Play and am enthralled with the battery life, something I don't see reviewers praising nearly enough. I enjoy seeing differing opinions on the usefulness of different mods (some reviewers don't like the projector, for ex), and you always follow through with honest opinions and clear purchase suggestions. Interested to see what you think about the new battery mods, the car dock, and some of the rumored mods/ concepts for this year!

My dad just got the Moro z play and the projector case. He loves it. I have the iPhone 6s right now. I think I'm going to get the Moro z play and the battery mod case.

You definitely gave the best review of Moto Z Play. A thorough review, but could have added other features like solah proof, slow mo camera feature(I guess it has), expandable memory up to 2TB :)

Excellent review! I think you nailed it. I'm a VZW subscriber here in the states so the One+3 and other unlocked mid range devices won't work for me. I have purchased two Mods, the JBL Speaker and the Tumi Wireless charging Mod and a shitload of Style Mods. I'm very happy with my phone and it's functionality. My solution for carrying those bulky mods around? I bought a Droid Mod bag!

Mods aside you should buy this just for the phone. It's a phone about all the sum of its parts. Don't be put off by specs. This phone is seriously fast and smooth. The battery is the best anywhere..

Decent review thanks. Subscribed to your channel. Just bought it. Arrives tomorrow. Only mod I will get if any, is the wireless battery mod. I don't play games and all the specs seems sufficient for my needs. The battery life and the headphone jack really peaks my interest. Just sold the nexus 6p to get this one and I don't think I will be disappointed. 01/04/2017

I love this phone! The battery life is impeccable. I really don't mind the lack of OIS and Quad HD since it is a mid-ranger and you get what you pay for. And the best part is that the Dual-SIM version is LTE-compatible with GSM carriers in the USA.

Yes I'd buy it and hopefully soon i'll have one. The battery mod to me seems worth it but none of the other ones. I have a JBL speaker so that JBL mod would be pointless. The projector seems pretty bad ass but then again I use my chromecast at home on a big tv so that's pointless as well...for me anyway. Nice review bud, thank you.

Hi, i'm curious about zenfone 3 v.s moto z play. Did you ever use zenfone3? Which one do you like more?

I bought a new Moto Z for the same price as the Play so IMO it is impossible to rate the Play higher because of that. Not used a headset jack for many years so not important. Battery life with the battery mod easily gets me through 4-5 days with light usage, really the extra size battery in the Play is overkill for my usage. Both are great phones and either do the main things very well and the mods are not really a selling point (as sales suggest); the projector is way overpriced, the speaker is OK but don't really use and the camera mod is disappointing. This and the OP3T are the best Android phones this year IMO.

Here in Germany you can't even buy the One Plus 3T. Also, it's advertized for 450€ while this one is for 350€ more or less. I would go for the HTC 10 though probably (that's 500€ here)
