Catalog and Directory the commands...but they can be shortened to:

cA & diR

Yes, c press the shift key and then A will get you the cAtalog of a disk on a commodore 128!

& di press the shift key and the the R will get you the diRectory of a disk on a commodore 128!

Saves many a keystroke!

Also works on the PET Computers!

From Episode 1400

New to all of this? Got a Commodore 128 hooked up and connected but hae no clue how to look at the contents of a disk? There are three ways...

CATALOG

DIRECTORY

LOAD"$",8

CATALOG will show you what is on a disk...leaving the memory intact if you are writing a program.

DIRECTORY will show you what is on a disk...leaving the memory intact if you are writing a program.

LOAD"$",8 will delete whatever is in memory...more typically used on the Commodore 64 and Vic-20 where the other commands are not part of the BASIC included in the machine!

After each of these things are typed in, of course remember to press the RETURN or ENTER key...

If nothing comes up on the disk and head bangs around...well, try another disk!

Good luck and stay tuned!
