I use to only use brushes for applying Foundation, until a few years ago when I hit my 30s and my skin started to change and i have dry skin now. So I can't use a brush anymore and only use beauty blenders/makeup sponges because it covers up the dryness beautifully whereas a brush always bring it out more. It really depends on your skin for what works for you.
