I have the dreaded 'chicken skin" around my eyes so putting concealer there is like trying to get the butter to stick to the turkey before you cook it lol! I always spray a little setting spray on my sponge and dab over my concealer. Really helps keep it in place and looking smooth. 😊

I have learned so many tricks from you, Zabrena, so thank you!! I just have to say "YAY" to the way you apply your eyeliner. The one thing I notice in women my age (60ish) is when they wear a dark, black eyeliner all the way around their eyes. I'm sure it's the way they have always applied eyeliner, but I think it adds 10 years and we should be changing our makeup application as we age. I don't put anything under my eyes anymore, and it really does open up my eyes so much! ❤

Put a TINY dab of concealer under and above the highest point of the eyebrow arch. It adds a little lift the same as the out eye technique,

If your foundation is cakey crusty to the point of giving up (not just overpowdered for setting spray to help) try a 2 phase, oil/water spray (i used body sprays and micellar/oil eye makeup remover, just shake and spray) it will help transform the cake into a glowy finish.
Also you can put a pale pink blush over too orange/warm bronzer. Tinted compact powders, banana powder also work.
If watery eyes, put the pencil liner between your lashes, not on the actual waterline. Same effect, no transfer or tears.
After the liner hack, no need to zig mascara at the root and get transfer, focus on the tips of lashes, roll and wink into, they'll stay curled and big cause theres no extra product weighing it down.
Use the v part of a bobby pin to stamp a stencil of ann eyeliner wing following the bottom lashline
Use your skin tone tinted powder to blend eyeshadow (skin products are more forgiving and less pigmented then eyeshadow)
Bake the sides of your nose and cheek are directly under your undereyes (helps with nose slimming and if you have hollows under the eyes, no need to dry out the thin skin, but push back your cheeks, that are thicker and oiler so can handle powder)
If you over line lips, make sure to bake/mattiffiy/powder on the perimeter, meaning your actual lipline and the fake wannabe one. Then apply your liner on top. Looks more natural and is long lasting. You can keep a glossy texture on your actual lips but be mindful not to drag it to the lipline, cause the light reflect gives away your scam
You can get the apsolute most beautiful lip stain by blotting gloss. Whether it a pigmented vinyl lip (Maybelline had a ratchet streaky purple one that turns into a most beautiful bordoux stain when blotted) or any color lipliner topped with a clear gloss. Extra tip if you blott it a bit agressive against a tissue it makes your lips look bigger and really puts in the pigment.

The waterline trick also works for the upper lash line! A must for people with hooded eyes who do theater productions where eyeliner is required. 👌

I do my concealer then I only do foundation on the parts that the concealer didn’t cover. I used to “double layer” and this led to a more cakey look.
Also I’ve gone back to “old school” tip my mom taught me. Get a regular lipstick (Revlon cream super lustrous is my favorite) and use it as a cream blush. Choose a shade without glimmer, frost, etc. Then use a tiny bit on lips and blend in with fingers to just stain lips for a more natural look.

I am in my 70s and appreciate your tips, especially the one about where to place the concealer. As I have gotten older I have changed how I wear makeup. I focus mainly on foundation and cheek color to give my skin some glow.

Hello Zabrena, the trick I learned from Risa does Makeup is setting your concealer with a little bit of setting spray. Put on your concealer spay the top of your hand tap your finger into the spay the tap & set your concealer. It's a game changer for me. I don't remember where Risa got it from, but I do itvall the time now. 😊

My favorite makeup tip is Wayne Goss 13 dot foundation application. It's wonderful. I feel my foundation is evenly distributed. And it helps it last longer.

When I use anything on my waterline or tight line I always use a qtip to dry them and clean my eyes before I apply the eyeliner ❤

Another tip is to put a white liner on your bottom and then put a color on the top of that like blue green ect it makes it pop

I let my (very creamy) concealer sit a few seconds before blending to provide a bit more coverage.
Thank you for your very helpful tips!
A Blessed Easter to you and your family.🐑😊

I’m definitely trying that mascara only on the outer bottom lash; that’s genius.

I use my setting spray after every step. I have dry skin and with me doing this I never look cakey and just melts everything together. So I spray after foundation, then after all my cream products, then after I powder and finally after the rest of my powder products. I use a glowy spray but then do a matte at the very end.

My concealer always creased under my eyes no matter what I used until I started applying it to only the inner half where I really needed it. After blending it in, I go back and buff toward the outer half.

When I tightline my upper waterline I only put eyeliner in the outer quarter....it dramatically opens my eye I feel and makes my eyes look really blue
