If you are interested in studying hospitality, travel and tourism, or business, there is no place like Les Roches Switzerland. Nestled in the Swiss Alps, just 10 minutes from the ski resort of Crans-Montana, Les Roches offers a vibrant student life and something for everyone. Hit the slopes. Sing your heart out. Get goofy with bubble football. Shoot some hoops. Travel. Organize student-led events: TEDx, Cultural Night, World of Wines Expo and more.

Les Roches is not just a school, it’s a way of life.

My name is Sophie Carrick. I am an Assistant People and Development Manager. So, I work as part of the FR team at Soho House & Co. Soho House is best known for our portfolio of private members clubs.

Originally started off in Soho at the heart of London, It's a members club concept that caters for those in the creative industries. We also have various boutique hotel concepts and a very large hotel concept called The Ned which is a 250 bedroom property as well as, various spa and home furnishing and off cuts of the brand as well as public restaurants.

So for the last 6 or 7 years, we've been visiting Les Roches attending the Careers Day to come and meet the students and hopefully hire those for the open programs that we offer. We've had great success in the past with Les Roches students and that largely speak for itself. Typically they are committed to hospitality, they are very professional, they offer something different, they are creative. It's something that Soho House absolutely loves. It's what we like about student here. We are a creative company ultimately. We don't always want to standard answer, the standard solution. If someone has an idea, we'll try it. Why not? and is often what happens with many of our Les Roches candidates. They came as trainee and they're doing very well with us in the company and that's what we like. The commitment and passion to hospitality, they obviously know they want to remain in the industry and I think that is key. So many people use it as a stop gap as opposed to really building a career within an industry which can offer a lot. It's all about making it happen and having fun. We want people with personality, that are passionate. We want people who are going to enjoy their jobs.

A cultural value of ours, it's one that I live by to this day, it was drilled into me as a trainee and yeah.... Everyday, make it happen. Make it work, there's always a yes, it's never a no.
