My name is Jessica Berry, I represent the Doyle Collection and my role at the Doyle Collection is talent manager.

I think the thing that sets the Doyle Collection apart is the fact that we are still a family-owned business and that sense of family trickles down into all the hotels. We still have members of the family that are on our board of directors and it's that sense of family and community is something that's really key for us.

The training and the education that you provide your students is second to none. I've worked with Les Roches our students for four or five years now and I've had nothing but amazing feedback from the teams that they've gone into.

I think they go in with realistic expectations and a really good knowledge and grounding when it comes to going on inside of hotels. Trait wise from a Les Roches student that we value: passion is absolutely key. You might have the best education and your education is excellent but if you don't have the passion for the industry and what you do I don't think you're ever going to succeed to the level of someone who loves what they do.

You see that from the Les Roches students. They've done the job, they've done their internships traditionally, they've been working here on-site at the school as well and that passion for doing that come through when they then come through into working for us full time.

I would say network. I've told quite a few of the students today that I've spoken with that I'd I no longer believe in business cards. So I have connected then and they're on LinkedIn. That's where I'm sharing information, that's where I'm going to for content, that's where I'm finding out what our competition is doing. It's where I'm going when I'm looking for the next talented person to join the team. So having a great profile on LinkedIn, keeping it up to date, networking with the right people and connecting with everyone that you possibly can is relevant.
