Dr. Marvin P. Fried, MD defines Otolaryngology as the field that treats all disorders of the head and neck. Hearing loss, sinus disease and throat problems as well as head and neck cancer are some of the conditions treated by otolaryngologists. Laryngology involves the larynx or voice box.

Sinus surgery does help some people. But it ruined my life. There can be complications you would not imagine. I have had severe nerve pain and my breathing has been severely damaged. My life is a nightmare now. Look up Empty Nose Syndrome. Modern medicine has a place but it's not the answer to every health problem. If your sinuses are having problems, look at your diet and environment. Look up all the things that can irritate turbinates, such as stress and spicy foods.
