I would like to point out, as a Brit living in Denmark, that Schengen countries are allowed to reintroduce border checks as in the case of Denmark in the last few years. Schengen countries bordering Hungry and Slovakia therefore can and would probably start checks on their common borders to prevent Russians and Belarusian entering!

When is this ridiculousness related to Hungary ever going to end? If Nato and the EU want to be respected, they need to stop acting so idiotically. There should be enforceable guidelines for the privilege of being a member of either organization and partaking of the benefits that come with said membership. If a country does not meet those guidelines, they should be summarily excluded. We can't have enemies in our midst. This is a time to choose sides, to delineate clearly who chooses democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, from those that do not. To continue to humor countries like Hungary only weakens our institutions. This has to stop.

Many thanks once again and the animosity against Hungary remaining in NATO and the EU is building, time they either changed their government or got out of our club .

I am livid at the thought of anyone saying Ukraine isn't doing its fair shair of paying to defend itself. They pay the ultimate price in blood. Any of those cowards saying Ukraine doesnt contribute enough to its own defence want to pay in their own blood instead of dollars or Euros?

Hey Francis, to follow up on the comment of support for Ukraine at the Olympics, I went to the UK during the summer to attend Glastonbury and I was pleased to see Ukrainian flags in the crowd. Slava Ukraini.

Even though it's only a 1% increase in military spending taxes have to be raised.

Hungary has been restricted. When Orban agrees to step out of the room as important decision are voted on in exchange for loosening these restrictions, it undermines the entire premise
I have lost patience
Either we enforce the originally signed agreement and uphold the sanctions on countries that violate the current rules, e.g elections, judicial requirements and citizens' rights, or we introduce new rules of majority/unanimous decision making
As a citizen of a very small country, I am willing to give that up, albeit it will lead to fundamental changes in my society
We have to respect the will of the people and their choice in elections, but what to do when elections are molded to benefit the current leader?

Ukraine needs to take a page from Canadas labour shortage playbook. Canada opened its doors and allowed in certain immigrants who have certain education and skills to fill the massive amount of labour shortages in Canada for a decade. It worked. This an issue UKR can actually fix.

How about promoting immigration to address Ukraine's labour shortage? I think many would prefer a Ukrainian factory to a Russian trench.

I think the most telling thing is the mass of trolls denying the Paris Olympics was caused by putin. Never underestimate the power of russian trolls.
