Zelensky pays Armed Forces Day visits to Donbas frontline, handing out awards and taking selfies

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited troops close to frontlines in the eastern Donbas region to mark the country's Armed Forces Day, according to video published on Tuesday.

The move came just a day after Kremlin announced Putin will visit Donbas in the future and released a video of Russian President Putin visiting Crimean Bridge, the symbol of the Russian control over the peninsula, which was damaged by a powerful explosion in October

Zelensky was seen meeting soldiers and handing out awards, more than nine months after the Ukraine crisis started. The president also appeared in a separate video In Sloviansk, which is being held by Ukrainian forces near the besieged city of Bakhmut.

The released video also showed Zelensky visiting wounded servicemen in a hospital in Kharkiv region.
