It's really easy to say "We love you George" after you pretty much destroyed the guy

People are bothered by The People vs George Lucas because they want to act like none of that stuff ever happened. The fandom took George for granted for almost two decades... Now in the wake of The Last Jedi, they don't want to be reminded of how bad they treated George.

Can't wait for The People vs. Kathleen Kennedy to come out!

The prequels might've been garbage, but at least they were imaginative garbage. Disney can't even be bothered to brainstorm anything worth paying attention to.

Everyone in the early to mid 2010s jumped on the "I hate the Prequels" bandwagon but like you said the kids who grew up watching the Prequels have grown up and like me enjoy the Prequels. I understand they have their flaws but it tells a story. And with the Clone Wars it helps Flesh the Prequels out

Just curious: are people who grew up with the special edition original trilogy interested in seeing the unaltered version? And have you seen the untouched originals or just the special editions?

I'm gonna get some hate for this but I'm sorry, I don't find this documentary interesting like why what's so important about this smear documentary and hatred of Lucas like again he's in his 70s maybe almost to 80s. I find this documentary to fuel toxicity of the prequels and the Fandom of Star Wars.

I didnt have any problem with the prequels and neither did my friends and family. The only time i here about people disliking the prequels, its from the media. I dont believe that any real fans disliked the prequels. The media also says that women and black people dont like starwars. Well im black and so are my friends and family. We loved the OT and prequels and the EU. (My children love The EU) We made each opening night during the prequel era a big deal filling up the theaters - about 20 of us. We all absolutely HATED TLJ and TFA. None of us paid to see TLJ because we hated TFA so much. I was there when StarWars came out- before it was called "a new hope" We have always loved George Lucas...he is a genius!!! Disney media has been setting George lucas up for years by making him think people disliked the prequels. Disney is evil and more and more people are waking up to see disney for what it is...propaganda

At one point in the documentary when they're expressing their disappointment with the prequels, someone actually says "In my Star Wars universe, the numbers 1, 2 and 3 don't exist.". Um, okay. Then how does that guy explain Slave 1, R2-D2, C-3PO and every other moment numbers 1, 2 and 3 are mentioned throughout the original trilogy?

For me I stopped really liking Lucas after he gave up on star wars following the conclusion of the prequels. I grew up with the prequel movies and though they have their many flaws, their still somewhat enjoyable at parts. But he just stopped everything except clone wars and videogames. Though he had plans for a sequel trilogy it's just infuriating that he did that.

Worst fans honestly are the ones who bash George. Ungrateful fanboys.

I watched the documentary about a year ago and I really appreciated it. It's not vitriolic towards Luke, it simply asks honest questions by the fans and addresses valid criticism they have. George Lucas is of course the antagonist, but the film is not about defeating him, it's about learning what happened and making peace with it.

The People vs Kathleen Kennedy however would be a full on napalm attack. There's no way this is gonna happen, KK would rather go back into hiding. The one thing you can say about George Lucas is that he was ready to face the fans, he didn't hide. KK on the other hand hasn't said a word since TLJ came out, hasn't even shown her face. She's a coward, and thus any documentary about her will treat her like a coward.

Edit: any *truthful* documentary would treat her like that.

Hot take, but I think we're just gonna get another repeat of this in about 10-20 years. People will be unhappy with Star Wars and they'll look back on the sequels and Kennedy era with a new appreciation, or at the VERY least people will be saying "Hey, remember Rogue One and Solo? I mean, at least Disney and Kennedy were willing to try new things like making a war movie and a heist movie in the Star Wars universe".

Star Wars is too special. It's too personal to too many people, and I think as it all accumulates more and more over time, it leads to a fanbase that's ultimately too volatile to be a reliable source of profit. Eventually the backlash will get so bad that no one in Hollywood is gonna wanna risk touching the brand. Love her or hate her, Kathleen Kennedy is one of the most successful and well-respected producers in the business with decades of experience and a long list of movies under her belt, including many of your favorite movies from your childhood. If she can't make it work, it's gonna make it look like it's not even worth attempting.

So what im getting from this is that they bash/bully Lucas and then at the end try to save face and are like just kidding, this movie just seems sooo bad like it's cyber bullying before that was a thing

I enjoyed the prequels, sure there was clunky dialogue, then there was jar jar but i still do enjoy having the story completed. I love the crap out of the OT, surprised my vhs tapes lasted as long as they did back then lol. I read a shit ton of the books and played almost every game. I regret not getting into the comics. At the end of the day i love George's vision (even with the clunky dialogue) and wish he didnt sell off the franchise even though i understand why he did.

This is a horrible documentary! I hate prequel haters and SJW. They are destroying Star Wars.

Star wars is a pop culture sensation arguably the most influential in all cinema, but its not a religion! But some have turned it into one. (Literally and figuratively.)

It is how I feel about Dragonball the manga/anime. I love Akira Toriyama but I hate his style of writing. If it were not for his editors and no being around a bunch of yes men we would not have the glorious but flawed DBZ.

Great review. I have The People Vs George Lucas on DVD, it's so watchable. That and Fanboys gets regular views.

I'd love to see your video The People Vs Kathleen Kennedy.

That's the feature film we need. I'm surprised the makers of The People Vs George Lucas haven't made it themselves.
