When I first went to sea I used what my rugged old boatswain jokingly called a Tarzan knife. When he retired he called me and gave me his Mora.
"This is carbon-steel", he said, "Swedish. The best in the world".
Now, 32 years later, I still have it.

Im from sweden and its like Mora knifes are like the everyday knife we use here. like if someone says knife here. the first thing i think of is Mora. and they are really easy to sharpen due to its European style edge.

Great video!

Great intel! I have a few bushcraft style knives but I haven't bought a Mora yet. I'm planning on getting one soon though!

The red companion is carbos steel, the blue one is stainless.  My first knife was a Mora Classic 6", and I've gone thru a LOT of them over the years. Still love them.  The thing with the button hanger is a workman thing. Most Swedish workpants have a button and a loop on the right leg for hanging a knife.

I always carry a Mora as backup to my larger full tang knife. I wouldn't hesitate to make the Mora my "go to" if needed. Other than chopping chores or heavy batoning, they are highly proficient and dependable.

Got my Mora at my first NRS survival class. I absolutely fell in love with it after using it. It's extremely light weight, egonomically superior to any other knife I own, and cuts, carves, and whittles like a beaver on anphetamines. I don't know of anything that comes close to a Mora in the same price range. Fantastic value! Great vid, like the camera angles and the war club.

I have a Mora Hunter (called the 'allround' on your review sold as 'hunter' or '711' here in the UK) the one with black handle/red details. It has been my most frequently used knife for the last few years for every cutting task imaginable. I live in a wet maritime climate zone and although the blade has acquired some patina it hasn't rusted/degraded by any appreciable amount. It is quick and easy to regain a very keen edge, which it then holds well. Being so inexpensive to buy, I have completely abused mine!, put away wet, prying, cutting through tree roots and turf!! You name it, it has never let me down. I appreciate the craftsmanship and beauty of handmade or high end knives...but for sheer utility you can't beat Mora knives.

Stainless are just as good as the carbon as for weight and function...nothing beats the ease of sharpening and usability with ferro as a carbon steel, although I can make the stainless work pretty easily. I recommend the stainless for newbies and for parents wanting to get one for their kids..so they are not easily lost.

Great video and really great video. Easily the best production quality for knife reviews I've seen. Keep it up!

As a Swede it's great and to be honest a bit humbling aswell to see other none Swedish people enjoy the knives made here in Sweden. May not be the best knife in the world and maybe I sound biased when I say it, but it's a very decent all around quality knife that you can get for a good price too. I almost live around the area where these are made and you can go practically into any hardware store and buy one of these for around 5 dollars. Bargain right there hehe.

I love, love, LOVE my "light my fire" Mora firesteel knife. It's got a small ferro rod incorporated into the handle. Also have an all-around in each of our bug out bags.
The only thing I'd change about the Moras is giving them a full tang, instead of the little rat tails and shorties they've got.
Awesome little knives and cannot be beat for the price. There should be one in *every* BOB and glove compartment as a backup.

I got the companion a few years ago. Never failed me. NEVER. I was being a moron once and accidentally slit my thumb open…what a gash. This thing is razor sharp. I've skinned so many squirrels with this things as well. Great knife.

I cannot remember for sure...but I think we got it on the second take...First one the blades went in great, but my words were jumbled...you will notice I fumbled a bit on this one too...but they were OK and the knives did OK, so we ran with it.
