That is one awesome tomato cage! I still use 8' tall wooden stakes I made by splitting a 2 x 4. But after many years they are getting tired!

My father just use sticks and thin cord and works the same and we have a lot of tomatoes.

For a more stable cage, I've seen people flip them over and use tent stakes to pin it down. Pyramid is stronger than a V.

I used to tend to my grandma's veggie garden and she loved having tomato plants and I can smell the plant as he's trimming the suckers.

Nice trellice! We used normal stick stakes but same deadbutting technique you are showing - simply keep one stem, remove all side shoots. It works!

You can plant those suckers and they will grow a whole new tomato plant 😋 I have 6 plants that were suckers :)
