A short finger-exercise written by Frédéric Chopin. The name "Butterfly Etude" (not by Chopin) was given to this piece because the hands look like butterflies when playing it.

It feels like a great hit in the heart after hearing Tristesse Étude.

it's almost got that ragtime feel to it

This piece is as short as a butterfly's life. This is how Chopin do.

I like how happy the song feels even though Chopin was depressed for a long time he makes such amazing work!

I heard this in a Tom and Jerry episode “Snowbody Loves Me”.

It played for only 10-15 seconds but that was enough for me to search high and low for this video because it was that enthralling to listen to!

You can turn into the view of the butterly in butterfly etude or turn into the bumblebee by flight of the bumble bee

I was going to learn this but then I switched to the Schubert Impromtu in Eb no.2 because I play too much Chopin.

In my opinion this piece is perfect prep for ragtime. I just finished learning the maple leaf rag and the techniques used in both pieces are similar, albeit this one is more extreme in its demands despite the length. For example, this etude requires more strength and endurance in RH as its almost octaves and the melody (practically) never stops. Also, the LH is like a march which is basically ragtime
