I wanted to thank you for your video and saving me $1000.00...my ML 320 was doing the "crazy" Erving and not knowing gear it was end! I would pull over...turn it off and restart it and it was fine!! This weekend, that trick stopped working....I stopped at a international garage and was told I needed a new electronic transmission plate....I had a new one put on last year, I didn't think this could be the same problem again. Well, I parked it and try to decide if this was worth getting fixed decided to try your solution....it worked😊😊😊 I took your advice and drove out on some rural roads to setting to set my driving style. I was successful, but I wasn't convinced this was real!! It felt very powerful"... I did the same thing today out on the rural roads, it felt right and didn't act up on me by over revving and making pull over"... I decided to try the freeway home....I did everything you said by shifting from 1st to 5th..Walla!! IT WORKED GREAT!! Zero to 70 mph...smooth, not a jitter....I would never try this before without having to pray I didn't have to stop and restart it!!

Thanks for the video😀😀😀

fupa, you simply are the man, thank you so much. Our family have been facing some economical problems, we had our break w202 c200t car (our only car) doing nothing on a parking for 6 months, because we couldn't afford the change of the front suspension arm bushings. So I buyed the remplacement, some tools and got some other borrowed and I changed it by myself (scared as s**t because spring compressor... lol), got the thumbs up at the check (spanish ITV) and now it rides beautifully!. Thank you really much!.

Works for early 722.9 transmissions as well . Thought my tranny was slipping on my 2007 cls550 . Wouldn’t pass 3k rpm and struggled to go over 65 mph . After watching the video my car is driving even better than before

THANK YOU SO MUCH. THAT ALSO FIXED AN ISSUE MY FATHER WAS HAVING WITH HIS 2004 E320 FOR YEARS AND WE COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT WHY IT WOULD POP OUT OF GEAR FROM TIME TO TIME OR NOT SHIFT PROPERLY UNTIL I WATCHED YOUR VIDEO. GOD BLESS!

That actually works! Car shifts crisply and the kick down passing gear does not hesitate. But a couple of weeks in NYC traffic messes it up again. This is so easy this way it is worth doing frequently - like before a race. If you use manual shifting and turn off the ASR it is not a problem anyway. Chrysler uses the same tranny on the Hemi without all the electronic confusion and it is better that way.

Thank you yet again for this very useful tip. Mine is a W210 E200 (punitive road tax here in Malaysia once the c.c. exceeds 2, 400) but the tip should work because it has a 722.6 transmission too. I haven't tried it yet but I know I can take your word for it based on the other tips I've seen here.

You have given the answer to something which has been bugging me for a few months i.e. the gear change being rather hesitant and inconsistent at times. There were times in the past when it was so silky smooth. Among the cars I've driven, this one has the smoothest transmission of all. I believe I was the one who had messed up the gear change memory with my "grandfather, light-footed" driving while my wife is much more aggressive. The system must have gotten confused. I'm going to go for power - if the fuel consumption goes up too much, I'll just reset it again.

Thank you so much. I have a 1997 g-class and it was sluggish and harsh when shifting. Shifts beautifully. Your instruction really saved me headache. Thank

Fupabox: My '99 W140 3.3 ( S320) was revving too high and then suddenly thump-shifting from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th.

It is generous guys like you that make owning these great cars a viable proposition. First time didn't work because I think I did it bass-akwards and depressed gas pedal before I turned the ignition - so after a few miles I pulled over and did it again and it worked like a charm.
You are my New Best Freind!

Thanks so much Bud!

I've just done this on my car and it works a dream, the difference is already very noticeable, I was very worried at restart as the car juddered and shook about for a minute or two, I was worried I;d done some damage but as soon as increased the revs it stabalised and has been great since. thanks very much for the info,

Yeah it works properly. I still use the car I go to the gym which is only about a mile down the street, and grocery shopping locally around my neighborhood. It parks, reverses well. If I leave it on neutral it slowly moves if I let go of the brake. Now the car speeds up to 45mph but the rpm needle gets too close to the red mark, and I don't want to crush my trany. To be honest I really don't know about engines and trans other than changing oils and brakes. I read your conversations here and I

Thanks a lot mate, I’ve just done so
Car feels amazing, I was thinking about getting the transmission checked
Shifts like a dream, I’ve may been flashed few times as well 😂
Now I can focus on the air bubbles inside fuel lines
Thanks again

Dude you're the man, thanks for the great advice the c240 has never been smoother. Like you I like good mpg plus I think it's better to have it shift early and accelerate hard when need be.

Great video - very helpful. It has made a little bit of improvement for me.
I have a Mercedes SLK 230 - 1997. It was fine, then this gear slipping started to happen...initially it wouldnt go over 60mph - but the revs wanted to! Revs would be going crazy, but the next gear wouldnt get reached.
After trying this, I can now go over 60mph, however...if i completely floored it before, it would drop a gear and shoot me up a few...now though, it just revs, it drops a gear and does not quite go in
