How To Allow Changes To Certain Cells Only In Excel

How to allow data entry only in specific cells in Microsoft Excel. Sometimes a lot of people work on the exact same workbook and thus require some restriction while entering data. In this advanced excel tutorial i am going to show you how you can allow people to enter data to only specific cells in Microsoft excel. Lets get started.
Step 1: Select the data range where you want to enter data
Step 2: Right click on the selection and select format cells
Step 3: Click on "Protection" and Un-check Locked in the checkbox.
Step 4: Now click on the data tab
Step 5: Click on the "Protect Sheet"
Step 6: Enter and Confirm Password and click Ok.
Done. Now you can only enter data to those pre-selected cells and all the other cells are now locked and you can't enter data to those cells.

One question, if the owner creates borders, if the borders go around cells that can be edited, can the people with permission to those cells remove the borders?
