Just got off of Symphony of the Seas yesterday and saw the launch viewing of Icon while on board. It looks incredible! Can't wait to experience this!

This looks like a ship that many families and young people will enjoy. However, it's just not my idea of cruising. I prefer the smaller ships that make me feel like I'm on the ocean. Ah, but to each his own.

As a person who been a captian of my own vessel .. all i can say is that this all looks cool & all, but how will this ship handle 80kt winds wind agianst tide & 10 foot seas? Because that is when the size of a vessel plays a part in life or death. I hope this ship was built properly, not rushed & no corners were cut .. if they built this thing out of aluminum & fiberglass = stay away.

I worked on allure of the seas. As a crew member I can say people do not like big ships. The zip line I operated was a useless joke. The ice rink was kinda cool but everything feels like it's 'At sea' in it's size. For two weeks max here's a list of people really want. All of this about older families....less of that young family shit I had to go A) Larger rooms that could even cost a little more to offset losesB) 5 Flow riders instead of 2 so you don't have to queue C) more sport tournaments on the 14th deck in particular paddle or pickle ball courts instead of the mini golf where the ball just rolls ( I ran sports), D) a driving range with balls that biodegrade and get eaten by fish E)more themed cuisine that best represents the trip in the wind breaker. F) a games room which features VR only games includind Madden ...tower tag etc and paintball....not just the largest paintball at sea but I mean a massive paintball studio that is for airsoft for younger years 3 slids of greater variety around the ship including an easy and bendy A somewhat more verticle slide and an almost vertical drop And most importantly G) a sports bar that plays every sport...has the best craft beer, wings and bar games and a guest speaker is invited to come on board during their off-season. These are a few on my list as an ex oasis class crew member.

As crew we had to be 2.5 stripes to enjoy some evening privilidges above T deck when we were not on duty. I got caught for going into the comedy club with my surf guys ....the guest comdien made fun of us all night and the crowd recognized us. Everyone loved it but obviously we were punished for being human in an otherwise stressful working environment. Bottom line is is you guys love it when we are out on the decks with you after our shift. I feel like we should get more time up there off duty and obviously responsible....first crew member in a trip to take advantage gets fired. Simple as.
