Precision Aluminum Drill Guide from Banggood

This drill guide is only a little bit more than they are charging for the cheap plastic drill guides. Yet this is made out of machined aluminum. It is rock solid. It just has a couple of minor flaws in my opinion But for the price, I don't think you can find a better guide. Below is a link to where you can get one from being good dot com.

Hi there
I really like that you are not pushing to sell as other YouTubers there, you’re honest and not trying to impress.
I have been considering to get this tool, I’ll take your comments and review it will help me to further consider buying.

I have nothing against Asian countries but I think this could easily be US produced.
I’d love for an American Tool company to make tools like these at reasonable prices. I know. There is Woodpeckers as an American entity but super expensive. Somewhere in the middle, American made is what we need. Thanks for your review

Thanks for your review. I purchased this item online and received it today. Your video was the first I wathced after I had it half way assembled from the box. I thought I would let you know I tightened down firmly the larger knurled handles and the slide worked well without any friction or restriction. In fact the slides functioned with the same smoothness when the handles were tightly screwed in or if they were removed entireyly. Secondly the 5 degree mark on the positive index is not off the 5 degrees on the one I got today. Maybe you should ask them to swithch it out for you.

I also like to tool and think it is well worth the price. It is not expensive and feels solid and quite well machined and engineered.

Hey, I have the updated version with none of the issues you have found. UK £56 delivered, great little addition to the tool box!

Have to say i bought the “improved” version and found the chuck carriage stuck like yours. This made using the drill guide awkward. I contacted banggood support who reached out to the maker. They sent me a new pair of handle supports and these have worked a treat, chuck bounces back up smoothly now.

I agree, the 5-degree mark looks way too obvious not to have a purpose. If you were to use that mark as your zero, then depending on which direction you went you would have positive stops at +/- 5 degrees for each of the detents. I can see that being a great place to screw up.

Thanks for the video. That 5 degrees thing on one side seems like it must have been on purpose, but I can't think of why.

Very well done.

The guide has features my Woodpeckers does not have. I’ll bet the price is significantly less. The quality may be not exactly what Woodpecker’s drill guide is but the features are way above the Woodpecker’s guide. I believe it’s superior to my Woodpeckers drill guide. The 5 degree off-set? Beats me!!🤜🤛

Again, nicely done.👍👍

Thank you for the detailed video! I would need this to use with a one inch fostner bit, I was wondering if you got to try it with a fostner bit. Thanks!

How do you expect to get accurate measurement of the angles on a ruff cut piece of wood?

How much does it cost? How can I get it.?

Looks like it was made for Woodpeckers. 😳😳

Personally I wouldn’t use the digital gauge. I don’t think it’s as accurate. For the 90 I would have used a precision square that you know for is 90 and butt it up against the bit to check it and see the light between them
