There s 2 other rules which will make this foot fault : 1 : dangerous game. 2 : fair play. Can you imagine doing this on purpose on the best players when they block ??

I think the rule is badly worded. If the Australian's foot is allowed to be in that position, and since no other part of his body is encroaching AND especially since the interference is caused by the Italian who lands on the Australian's planted foot, this should not have been a fault. The wording "unless there is interference" is an oxymoron. If I'm allowed to be partially in my opponent's court and my opponent, not me, makes contact with me, why am I at fault?! I believe the rule should omit the "unless there's interference" reference. Of course in this case R1 goes by the book and correctly awards the point to the Italians.
