Stop Combing Your Beard So Much!

Many guys have a tendency to comb or brush their beard too often. Do you? What are the best tools to use? I will post some of my favorites below.

I have to admit that early on I groomed my beard way to often. But after finding channels like yours, and tapping into this great bearded community! I usually comb in the morning when I wake up and again after I shower and apply whatever product I'm using that day, after that I try to leave it alone as much as possible! I do keep a very soft boars hair brush in my car for occasions when my hands won't do, and still carry a comb for extreme situations like being outside on very windy days or more recently to deal with mask beard!

Great video, Bryan! My beard is extremely curly so I’m cautious not to over comb mine personally. I typically comb my beard after the shower and after using products and that’s about it. I will second the fact that your hands are the best tools for shaping the beard!!!

I do it several times a day as a preventative against over tangling. I'm careful and gentle.

Only comb the goatee twice, maybe three times a day. I usually use my hands. My favorite comb right now is the Chicago Comb No. 8. All great advice, Mr. Haywood!👊

I comb in the morning after a shower and sometimes at night if I put in more product. Other than that, I don't really comb it. I will brush it 3-4 times through out the day with a boars hair brush to get the fly-aways back under control.

Bryan thank you so much for making this video! I have a long and curly beard and combing always results in some hairs falling out. I choose to only comb after showering with some cowash or conditioner, with oil and butter in beard. I use Chicago combs #7 first then #8. On the off days or rinse days I stick with the boar bristle brush.

These days I am only really combing out of the shower when applying products and during my night time routine when i am adding in the nightly butter. Combing during the day just leads to pulling out hairs usually cause my beard is super course and curly, the only shedding i really deal with comes at the hands of combing so like you said, I agree its better to do it as little as you can!

Great topic & video brother Bryan! In the morning & evening, I'll use a comb and/or a pillow brush. During the day, because of these dumb masks on & off, I'll use a boar hair bristle brush. Of course, I'll brush again when my girlfriend runs her fingers thru my beard to try & relax me. No complaints there! Other than that, hands off my beard!
