If you damage Ridley enough during the first fight, he'll actually drop the Metroid capsule, grab it again, and make his escape.

I love how the music goes in and out with the volume. It sounds like it's swooping across the air: just like Ridley and Draygon do.

Imagine, your first time playing this game, hoping something like the original Metroid.
The first thing you see, no enemies. You start learning the basic and simi-advanced controls, (having fun with Samus' spinning in the meantime) when sudently, DEAD PEOPLE.
You then think "ok, this is not good, no more screwing around."
Then, the first enemy? A BOSS BATTLE. Sure, a scripted event where you can't die.
This REALY puts you on your toes.

Stressful child hood moments...
I mean when I was 8 years old Draygoon was just this evil, unbeatable MONSTER.
I didnt have any game magazines to help me either. No grappling hook trick. Just pure STRESS!

Ah 1994...that's when 9 year old me was blown away by this game. Nintendo power magazine hyped me to the extreme and it delivered. Still playing in 2019

Despite how old this game is, the music still kicks ass! I'd play the soundtrack to this game in my car (if there is one). I remeber playing when I was younger, I was terrible at it, as I got older I got to the part where she fights the Chozo statue, then my SNES broke. I was devastated! It might be a old game but I loved it and the music. It still kicks ass!!

The tapping percussion is also really good here, the way it gets softer and builds up.

The fact that Draygon can be cheesed with just the grappling beam and a decent amount of energy is a slap to the face.
