This song just screams "Welcome to hell, there is no turning back..."

I freaking love the Metroid series. The music makes the games 10x better.

I remember back in the 90s being able to see the entrance to Ridley's lair, the dragon mouth thing in the room before the elevator but having no idea how to get to it. It took me forever to find the grapple beam and to figure out the gravity suit protects you from lava. When I finally accessed Ridley's Lair for the first time and heard this... my young heart was racing.

Just got done playing this game last night after many years....when I entered Ridley's Lair I got the same tingly sensation I got the first time when I was very young. This game is akin to The Odessy and Iliad in the tomes of gaming history for sure.

One of my favorite tracks. So demonic and fitting for the hellish level. It used to intimidate the heck out of me, when I first played through the caverns.

The original Doom game has music as ominous as this in the lead-up to the final boss battle in Episode 1. Two great games made even greater thanks to iconic music!

This track almost tells the story of the game. The first half feels when Samus barely got away from Ridley in the beginning, then the song changes at 1:10 in the middle and sounds like Samus is now the hunter coming for Ridley.

Fun fact: I actually play the Green Brinstar music in Zone Mode when playing WipEout Pulse. You gotta love games that support custom soundtracks.

This sounds so amazing with Stereo. The ticking go's left, right, left, right.

One of the best songs not just in this game, but in the world.

The reason this song even works, is because its an intimidating dungeon.Unlike metroid prime where the room isn't as difficult, this place is intimidating. You got a wall of lava rising and boiling you alive, and giant fireballs shooting up and space pirates who jump around and change color and become immune to damage. Its like the game is saying:This is hell and i'm going to make you suffer.

This track always got me into a feeling of extreme buildup when you finally get to fight the one who caused this in the first place, but yet you need to go through literal hell just to get to it.

When my dad told me about this game I was interested, but when we made it to Ridley’s lair my dad was like “ah shit, here we go again” then I quickly passed my controller to my dad and i was like “I ain’t fighting that large ass dragon”😂

I first heard this remade in Metroid Prime. Came back to this game later on, and I love this track. Best in the franchise
