Thank you for posting this tip. I was dumbfounded as to why I was getting that error message. Per your suggestion, I switched out my brand new iPhone XS cable with an older cable I've been using for several years -- and it worked!

This worked for me. I added brand new cable instead of my old one. Not sure why you have so many dislikes. I assume they are just hating on your accent or maybe you didn't get to the point fast enough for them, not sure but, I left you a like. Thanks for your help! 🙂

4 minutes to say you changed a cable and it worked but you don't know why. Good job. So if you link an Amazon basics cable which isn't what you used, then you've tested it? I've been working so hard to get subs and you've had great success over me so I hope your other videos are a bit more informative. If so, keep up the good work?

this actually worked for me. My cable got sucked up and ruined by the vacuum cleaner but still charges phone and can sync via itunes/explore device etc....Just no copy files.. Used an unblemished cable and problem solved. thanks Jamshaid, always try a different cable everyone!

Thanks Jamshaid! I had the exact same issue with my new iPhone XS Max, using the 1 day old cable shipped with the phone. I switched the cable to an old one and copied the file with no problems.

I have now tried 5 different cables. It does not work. The files that will not move are certain saved snapchat videos, in mp4 format. Have never had this issue before, only happened in the past couple of months. On my iPhone X and my sister's iPhone 7. It refuses to let me move those videos. Keeps crashing so that I have to take out and in the cable all the time. I tried the second video you showed. That did work for the videos, but it changed the size of them. When I see them in the right size, it should be around 12MB. When I changed settings to original it was only 5MB. I changed the setting back, same issue as before with moving my videos. But must have my photos as jpg, so cannot have that original setting on all the time. Sigh. Any help for this issue?

It's not bad cable. All my cables are bran new and original, it worked perfectly fine to transfer smaller files but when I needed to transfer my recordings, huge and very important files, it didn't work.

Thanks really helpful, I also watched another video which said in Settings --> Photos scroll down and change the tick from Automatic to Keep Originals, through a combination of the two it is working great now.
