0:15 if you dip your legs behind you at an angle before you raise them you get much better lower ab activation. When you let them hang straight down before you raise them like that, you use more of the hip flexors to raise them.

Also dead hangs feels great and when those gets to easy the variation where you switch hands back and forth. The shoulders really like doing all kinds of hanging like that.

Another good variation is to do inversion therapy with gravity boots and just hang upside down for a few minutes and then finish of with a set of crunshes.
Inversion therapy makes the spine feel so smooth you wouldn't belive it.
