Minimally Invasive Bunion Surgery: A Short Animation

Enjoy our quick animation of minimally invasive bunion surgery, which allows you to walk out of the bunion removal procedure bunion-free. This is also called "keyhole bunion surgery" because the 3 incisions are about the size of a keyhole, about 1/4 inch. They are each closed with one single stitch. In most cases, scarring is almost invisible.

Minimally invasive procedures such as bunion surgery not only work to provide immediate and lasting relief from the pain of orthopedic medical issues, but are the best treatment option for those who do not want to deal with a long, painful, or restrictive recovery process when treating such issues.

If you think you are experiencing bunions, hammertoes, heel spurs, or other complications that might make you a good candidate for a minimally invasive surgical procedure, contact Northwest Surgery Center today. We specialize in minimally invasive orthopedic surgery with two locations in Colorado & Wisconsin. Our helpful, experienced staff can help give you relief from pain as quickly and efficiently as possible.

I had a bunionectomy done years ago - WAY more invasive than this. 2" incision on top of my foot - cut/reshaped joint - pin inserted. Done on both feet at same time. About a year later, 1 pin started working it's way out, almost poking thru the skin. Be sure to wear proper ortho shoes or the bunion will return.

What holds the bone in place while it heals? For example, is there a screw or k-wire involved during healing process?

Also, can this type of procedure be done for a tailors bunion as well? Is there a difference in recovery time?

I was like wow this seems really simply and not painful and then they took all that bone out of the toe 😳 lol

It's probably "minimally" compared to others in the market but still very invasive, that thing pierced the toe almost all the way to the other side of it.

Lol I always thought people with bunion had prettier feet. I have it and I think everyone else's feet look freaky. Im like "where's your lil knob on the side of your foot?"

Does the ligament that is cut get re-attached, and are there surgery options that DON'T cut the ligament?

the truth is that I know that this bone has correction, but I also know that recovery is very painful, that's why I love my foot as it is😅👌🏻

Are you still able to run and exercise without any pain after healing?

Are you guys in Georgia. I’m in so much pain & I’m absolutely broke as a musician. I can barely walk some days. I have tried everything but the surgery & I’m afraid tbh of it. Especially the cost.
