for those who dont know, system solver in a ti 84 or any graphic calc is just making a matrix in this case you make a 3x4 matrix, and hit in the numbers for your i, j, and k after that go to home screen 2nd matrix rref(the matrix you made) and enter

8:54 I spent twenty minutes on this problem, thinking I made a mistake. Your method was correct you just plugged in the wrong value into your calculator.
-0.5/2.06 and not -0.5/2.006
The correct answers are:
BA = 954 N
CA = 858 N
DA = 932 N

DR. Hanson, thank you for a positive introduction to 3D Statics About a Particle. These are difficult problems in 3D.

Dr. Hanson, hour book has the x and y axes opposite the way you have it in your book on Page 65

Around 2:37 it sounds like he's listening to the old video for the dimension :)

Hi professor, I’ve followed you since I took statics in 2015-16 but I am unsubscribing for a bit because you are taking up my feed with your re-uploads. I will re-subscribe after you have added your new intro but I will always thank you for being the best resource in engineering courses on YouTube. Thank you so much Dr. Hanson

The z dimension is 2 metres (he forgot to write it down, he notices at 2:55 ). If you pause in the begging and try to solve it you will need that information.

My calculations, based on your values, come up with Tab=963.140N, Tac=846.632N, Tad=937.400N Using excel matrix calculation. Retired EE auditing class for fun.

Its a sad day when you cant use your smart calc on the test. No system solver :(

I just have a question; why cannot we take (x, y, z) in a regular way i.e the way we use in quadrant system which will make B(1, .5, 0), can you explain?

Forgive me if I am wrong; however, if you are considering that the 2500N is in the positive Z direction, then shouldn't the coordinates of B be (-0.5, 1, 0)?

BTW I used EXACT numbers for the unit vectors in calculation (irrational numbers like root(17)/17) and when I solved the system my answers were each, on average, about 1% higher than what you got. How do you go about using sig figs, how about in the real world??

Can anyone tell me I'm not clear about point B why he got B(0.5, -1, 0)?

I'm confused in lambda method particularly on how to get the coordinates of points.
