Keep a close eye on the animals. If or when something is about to happen the animals are going to start moving away from the area at a rapid pace. I hope they got all those trail cameras with new batteries in them. The animals are going to know what's going on before all their fancy equipment can detect it.

I just checked their website, for the park, only a few temp closures for road construction... No warnings or full on closures listed.

Well if its closed. Two possibilities come to mind. 1: its about to blow. 2: the current powers that be have something up their sleeves.
Im going for option 2.

Yellowstone was partially closed due to flooding this year but should be completely reopened in June. However the entire area has been becoming more and more active over the past couple of years. Earthquake swarms are very prevenlent and there are signs that she may be getting close. Magma in some areas is now at 600 feet below your feet. There are experts on YouTube that monitor Yellowstone on a daily. Some are pretty interesting. Check them out.

I just checked and it shows Yellowstone is open. There’s only one road closed and it’s between 5pm-7pm due to construction on the road.

I remember when Mount ST. Helens in 1980 it remained active until 1984. This was the first eruption I had ever seen. It was all over the news channels and the military showed us a video eruption in 1980 I was stationed in South Korea at the time. The footage of the volcano blasting apart and looking like the top half mountain was gone.

All I know is when I was growing up (80’s-early90’s) all I was taught is that Yellowstone was past due for an eruption. Now in the last 5-10 years the story shifted to it won’t for 100’s of thousands of years.
Did we learn something new or are they now just lying to us?
Thats what I wanna know.

I live in Wyoming just about 3 1/2 hours away. I was there just the other week and it's tourism season and also the beginning of summer, so there are lots of dummies and road damage due to melt off

I know Kilauea in Hawaii is very active (in red zone) starting this am. I graduated from Univ of Hawaii a number of years ago & kinda wish I had never left but I was hell-bent on getting my doctorate. I missed out on Yellowstone too but I am just glad it is not underwater - that would be … more dangerous, at this point. I think it’s gonna keep going - I don’t see it exploding soon. And college in Hawaii was great - I had no fear! We made many trips to volcano to go out & have fun without any supervision - or parks people. Those were the days‼️💜

I went to Yellowstone about 30+ years ago. As active as it is now I refuse to go west of Chicago until Yellowstone calms down

Totally agree. They don't tell us anything unless we force them too

Why worry about things that you and nobody else have control over? If it explodes we die some die instantly and the rest may be days, months, or years. You have to ask yourself if you want to go out instantly, or would you want to suffer for years before you die?

I saw it, believe me it wasnt that grand. We have Buffalo giant Black Panthers, Hugh Mountain lions, and 200lb Wolfs in Oklahoma. I wasn't impressed by a giant hole that occasionally sprayed water.

This has always terrified me. No matter where you are in america/canada, you will be effected...if there is a super eruption.
I also think they(scientists/government) would know but won't tell us due to the mass panic and anarchy that would follow; nor would they really have time to prepare people for such en event. It would be like a mini-apocolypse. seriously.
