I used to work with Evil Geniuses as a graphic designer in 2019, and it was the most horrible experience I've had with any organization in the Esports space, ever. Between a huge lack of communication, dodgy contract negotiations, and eventually waking up to find my email deleted, company access revoked, and contract voided, without ANY heads up or communication it was an experience I won't forget. For the wrong reasons. Internally, this company is a MESS.

Extra thing about their winning VALORANT roster. They proceeded to blow up all the goodwill they built with their underdog roster by upsetting their players since they tried to lower their salaries AFTER winning the biggest thing

Ah, the old classic: a CEO acquired a thing they know next to nothing about and rebrands a perfectly fine thing into oblivion and wonders why it fails

Calling JWong the "guy who got Daigo parried" is brutal lmao

It's hard to overstate how badly they treated Danny (the league player mentioned in the video) autistic 19 year old kid got bullied into an early retirement, killed what could have been the most successful and powerful adc in the history of NA. They burnt out a superstar, but more importantly, a kid.

What’s so funny is that EG also had a scandal in Valorant where they refused to pay their champ winning team and kept them in contract jail

EG: Everything Gone. The legacy, the money (a shitload of money), the reputation. Everything is Gone.

The sponser fading in after you said "If somebody walks up to you with a bag of money, you take it", crazy

I've heard the "Why you bully me?" meme for years and I never realized until watching this video that it was from s1mple.

Spunj: But you got a win tonight, shouldn't you be happy?

Absolutely disgusting how her and other execs handled the Danny situation and caused irreparable harm to a young neurodivergent individual. As tainted as the esports industry is, it is an infinitely better place without her.

As someone who watched EG burn millions in League, ruining the team's reputation as well as players' careers, it doesn't surprise me a single bit that they did the same thing in CS. And that's not even talking about how they physically and mentally endangered Danny then paid him off keep his mouth shut, or the creator collective that was such a comically massive fail I don't blame you if you didn't know it existed.

Phy, real stuff real quick. You're genuinely putting your heart and soul, along with so much effort into these videos. They are a joy to watch for me, and I'm sure others alike. Please don't stop making content, it's definitely something you are very good at, despite what the views might say. Considering the CS2 content creation scene is very dry right now, these are far and away the best videos I see in my recommended feed. Thank you for the consistent, high-quality content you put out for your audience. Cheers.

Fun fact, back in the early days Evil Geniuses did have a League of Legends team, but it was over in Europe and before they focused solely on North America. They were middle of the pack to good from what I remember with some good players on the team, notably Froggen, Krepo, and Wickd.

What is even more tragic, is the unfulfilled potential of the EG project. Had they hired someone with a half a braincell of how esports ecosystem works, knowing where to put money (player development, salary, player branding-the FACE of the org) instead of your own personal branding and motives, it could have been so much better. The players were not bad, the toxic environment was.

The worst victim of this is Autimatic, man he had so much potential, so much promise, but keeping him in a prison contract with a ridiculous buyout, hampered his t1 prospects even more.

EG was actually evil and pure geniuses in burning money
