There’s something hilarious and unsettling about Carrigan’s unexpected and self induced death. After expecting Dibs to sacrifice himself and all of her narcissistic, greedy and murderous behavior towards him the audience can laugh at her and sigh in relief as she plummets toward her death. And the several seconds of silence making the audience wonder if her soul would truly stay behind as a ghost or if it would just simply be the end for her. All the while Dibs seems completely indifferent to her turning herself into wormwood.
