Cheers mate. I was running 5.50 Gen D2, originally hacked away back when, in fact a friend did it for me and I was reticent in updating it because I didn't know exactly how he'd applied it. So now fully updated to the lastest Pro-C just like my sons one which I hacked ages ago.

I picked up a cheap PSP-2000 that was stuck on an old 5.50 CFW.
I have no experience with PSP modding so I had no idea what to do to return it to stock and update to a better CFW. Your step on modifying the text file on the PSP allowed me to install 6.61 and enabled me to set the device up as I want to.

awesome tutorial, thanks a lot! i was not able to access VHS menu, maybe my select button is broken. anyone else with this issue, just go to your recovery menu via holding down the R button when turning on the PSP. Then head to config and XMB USB device where you can set it to flash 0. games run great now.
