8 Tips And Tricks: AUTOCAD 2021- Module 4

Everybody uses AutoCAD to make work easier, faster, and accurate. However, there are infinite ways of using Autocad and it is easy to miss out on a better way to do the job effectively. Acad Systems is doing a series of AutoCAD tips and tricks and this webinar will be the third part of this series. We will be sharing several command tools that you might not notice of its capability to make the job more productive.

SPELL

Allow you to do a spelling check

XCLIP

Trims a block’s visible area using a boundary line. Use the command first, then set or draw the boundary.

U

A quicker “undo” than CTRL Z.

WIPEOUT

Allows you to set boundaries on top of lines and objects that “wipes out” everything behind it. Like a reverse hatch. It’s a good idea to put all your wipeouts on one layer so you can turn them on and off as you wish.

DIMROTATED

Aligns dimensions to objects that are staggered where DIMALIGNED falls short.

MLINE

Creates multiple parallel lines.

MLEDIT

Edits multiple parallel lines at once.

SKETCH

Creates freehand drawing lines.

TIME

Displays all of the statistics of your current DWG file like creation date, last update, and edit times.

SAVEALL & CLOSEALL

The best 2 commands an engineer can hit at the end of his or her workday.

QLATTACH

Attaches leader line to MTEXT.

QSELECT

Let’s you filter your selection to certain objects by object type or other criteria.

BO / BOUNDARY

If you want to split an object in half, simply draw a line through it and use the BOUNDARY command in each half to create correctly sized polylines and erase the original objects.
