I love when animals look fake as fuck, that lil red fish dude looks like a child drew it and it came to life.

The sabertooth cub made me emotional when the news came out. What a rare opportunity to have such a tangible example of something no human has seen in thousands of years.

The mummified saber-toothed cat cub might just have been the highlight of my year. Because... oh, boy was the rest of it just... not it.

The discovery of the saber tooth kitten has confirmed my suspicions, cats have always been just lil guys

As a kid, I had the privilege of getting to see Lyuba (the almost perfectly preserved mammoth calf) in person and looking at that little preserved saber tooth kitten gives me nearly the same feeling: awe, reverence, a little sadness, and so so much curiosity. I hope they give the little cat a proper name, they definitely deserve it

I was so emotional with the pics of the cub!! That little guy had a short life, but a huge impact on science and history!!! I'm sure his mama was proud of that little guy
My favorite 2024 discovery was actually a rediscovery of my curiosity, a big part being influenced by Lindsay's work. I even started to draw dinos because of her and did a whole traditional drawing series that made me fall back in love with art.
My 2025 goal is to go back to college - to study biology or history!!
Thank you Lindsay for one more amazing year, and for being such an amazing youtuber and influence for young autistic people like me and others (that we know of!!)

Next shirt ideas: A sketch of the Homotherium kitten, with parts labelled. But the labels are not scientific, they are cute: square-ish toe beans, tiny ears, exxxtra long arms for hugs, compact cuddle body, etc.

I know a lot of people discovered your channel through your (kick-ass) _History of Life_ series, but seeing you get downright giddy over the Homotherium discovery is a great reminder of all the work you've done with (and your passion for) big cats.

Thanks for sharing your passion with us. I can't wait to see where it takes us next.

The paper on the Homotherium cub was published on my birthday this year! Definitely the coolest birthday present I've gotten in a long time!

a note that might help preserve your voice, from a vocalist ^_^

losing one's voice in your line of work is pretty common (especially if one is relatively new to it), but if it happens too much it can leave permanent damage, much like the wrong techniques can end an athlete's or musician's career. it's one of the reasons why coaches and tutors are important.

Vocal training is just as important! given you've lost your voice a couple times (even if it's just from a cold), i would recommend seeing a speech pathologist (they're the vocal equivalent of a physiotherapist). they'll help you fully heal your injury and teach you how to avoid it in the future. thus no risk of permanent damage!

I love your videos! you're a great presenter and i especially love how much you remind us that good science means changing what we previously know. it seems like you're having stacks of fun - don't let this injury affect your future!
