Actually, Pixar's first movie was Luxor Jr. It was a revolutionary achievement, showing what the future held in store for life-like 3d computer animation. So it's kind of an important milestone, and among film geeks is a well known achievement. Toy Story was Pixar's first animated feature film, but it was possible only after years of developing new computer art technologies and the painstaking production of experimental short films.

Trendsetters and innovative leaders were all, at some point, considered misfits!

This is literally the story of my life at the moment. I've been underestimated for so long, and lately I've been on a mission to prove the naysayers wrong.

Being a misfit gave me so much resilience and willpower... drake said it: no new friends.

Basically:
hire the masses/sheep to be the cogs, don’t employ creative ppl and then try to diminish them to that role as it’s not only lost value but they aren’t happy doing it. Misfits who aren’t just the trend followers are more likely to be creative/innovative. This likely comes from needing to be creative to make it through as an outsider in my best estimations. Reminds me of how comedians are usually people who have suffered more than the regular person. there’s interesting links between people who make people laugh & personal hurt/issues they hide.

So the part about the underdog motivation is oddly funny for me to listen too because I have basically been doing thing with my roommate/friend to help him out. I'm not the bad guy but I'm playing the part of the re-establishing his confidence but still being constructively critical where i can and is appropriate. His brother is a dumb@$$ and set him back a bi. Until i learnt how to use the necessity in having to deal with him in our life to the advantage of motivating him. I've seen some great improvements especially in the last few months.

But the fact that nobody understands you DEFINITELY does NOT mean you're a genius

I bet the people who made this podcast made themselves feel like the underdogs... because the quality is really that good.
