You can contact Amazon customer service and ask them to remove it for you. It is free and they will be swift with it. At least when I did it 3 years ago, don't know what's their policy now.

I've always used Kobo ereaders. Some of models you can increase the storage if you know how to do the internal microSD card swap. Apparently Kobo is coming out with a colour ereader soon too.

I highly recommend the Kobo Libra 2 reader. No ads, open to whatever ebook files you have regardless of source, great quality all around, good price.

I dont regret getting my "premium" kindle cuz i want the cover art of whatever im reading to display when im not reading. Getting ads on an e reader does seem very dystopian but then again its amazon were talking about
