make Canada more accessible to other Canadians. It shouldn't be so expensive to travel to my own country. I would love to encourage local in other provinces but it cost me 1/4 less if i travel abroad. It cost less to spent a week in Greece than just plane tickets for Vancouver. INSANE. We, as a country, should be able to live with our own tourism.

Win win for everyone. Canadians can't stop talking about how Chinese people are the worst tourists and Chinese people won't have to experience racial antagonism or violence and being called slurs in Canada which has grown exponentially against asian people in the west since Covid. Why the hell should Chinese people ever spend their money in places that despise them and think of them as subhuman? Glad to see they are seeing the west for what they truly are.

Yes, some Canadian tourist areas will suffer. On the Canadian side, Canada must warn Canadians how dangerous it is to travel to China, Hong Kong and Macao. Have we already forgotten the 2 Michael held for years on fabricated espionage charges?

Nice speech on victimhood. She mentioned Canadian beef farmers. What happened? Well, exporters of Canadian beef informed the Chinese government that the veterinary certifications, which ensure that the shipped beef is safe to consume, were being forged by Canadian beef companies. This made the beef obviously unsafe for consumption (this was all revealed in CBC reporting years ago). China, in turn, banned Canadian beef imports until they could work through their supply-chain problems and ensure that their beef was safe to eat. This is what this reporter claims is an example of Chinese economic bullying. The other claims have roughly the same validity to them.

Instead of creating a middle-class in China hoping they come spend here, why don't we re-patriate manufacturing jobs to Canadians, pay them properly, and have Canadians spend that 'middle-class' money here.

This could really impact the smaller communities that rely on summer tourism to get them through the winter months. I have a family member that has a small business & the summer tourist boom is what gets her through the rest of the months.

I think that tourists have one thing on their mind: go somewhere to enjoy the pleasant things at that place. And not focused on the politics unless it is actually dangerous to go there. Tourism should be fine.
