This was great to hear that you’re going back to the place where you can thrive. I got the TO option from Cornell too, but I denied it a few weeks since I’ve been nervous that I’m making a ridiculous decision that’ll hinder my success, but this video makes me feel like I will be much happier because of it! Thank you

I love being at Cornell. Had a very diffrent experience, but definitely agree on the socio economic diversity point.

Your video will help a lot of students. Love your honesty and really respect your decision. Which program at Cornell were you in?

I came across your video when I was searching for Cornell Early Decision reaction videos. Having been born-and-rasied in Massachusetts (in a suburb of Springfield), I can understand why might want to transfer back to UMass.

Cornell (especially Engineering, which I studied), was not an especially fun overall experience - very stressful with a TON of work. A friend, who was a Cornell grad student and went to UPENN undergrad, considered that school a party school compared to Cornell and said he was so happy he didn't go to Cornell for undergrad (I don't think he had applied).

I imagine it must have been really hard to come into Cornell as a transfer as well - which probably made things worse in regards to trying to meet new people.

Regarding the wealthy background of Cornell students - I somewhat felt the same when I was there, when 25% of students then were on financial aid (not I think at least 50% are on financial aid).

But over time, I've come to appreciate having gone to Cornell and the the active alumni network in the San Francisco Bay Area. I also wound up going to business school at Duke for my MBA, which was a lot more fun (than studying engineering) than my time during Cornell.

Glad you are making the decision based on what makes you happy and what you want out of your college experience.

Hey I know this was over a year ago but I just got accepted to Cornell as a transfer and am having trouble deciding if I want to leave my current school. I would love to get in touch soon if possible to hear more about your experience if possible!
