A Look Back: A history of 'Sunday Morning'

Jane Pauley turns back the calendar to January 28, 1979, the very beginning of "Sunday Morning," and looks at how over the last four decades the broadcast has stayed true to Charles Kuralt's vision – traveling the back roads, taking our audience places and showing them things they wouldn't see anywhere else on television, to make sure "gentler subjects" get their due.

I remember Charles Osgood Became the New "Charles in Charge" of Sunday Morning after Charles Kuralt Retired. then Jane Pauley! I Remember Charles Kuralt saying He 's going to watch the Show in his Bathrobe while eating Breakfast! I'm sure CBS Sunday Morning will do a Tribute to Charles Osgood!

Steve Hartman should be doing this gig . In true Kuralt Fashion, his On the Road segments put me so in mind of that Gentle Voice of the Road that Mr. Kuralt was.

I noticed how once Jane took over, they showed more star interviews. Seems to be drifting away from the common man. No more star interviews; they get plenty of coverage elsewhere.

Shame how much this show has fallen since she began. It just has a completely different feel. Before it felt warm and like a family show for the Sunday mornings. No she makes it feel younger and more stressful. More of a news show and less of a easy going show. Just my opinion.
