Sears once evoked feelings of optimism, warmth and joy. And a century later, that reassuring sentiment is gone gone forever....and I am saddened.

This is great history on Sears on its foundation days. Where i feel the Sr Mgt went wrong in their business decision was getting rid of their Catalog shopping as an option for its loyal customers. Sears catalog Shopping in my view is what is termed in todays business world as online shopping in which Amazon, Walmart, Lowes, Homedepot etc are taking advantage of using the available technology. I believe this is Sears launching pad to become leaders with on line shopping and onsite retailing to restore its retailing presence in North America. Competition brings out the best in every business.

Sears' problems started before Eddie Lampert came on board. He definitely worsened the problem.

Damn. Didnt think this day would come, Sears is one of the OGs. Good thing Stanley bought Craftsman, and are making it better than their later times at Sears.
