That actually makes a lot if sense because I remember being jarred by Alice’s fluid, seamless and life like movements when I first watched it as a child. There was so much atd regarding her clothes in motion

It's called rotoscoping and Disney did that with almost all their early films

That would be insanely cool to see a actual authentic live action representation that is accurate to the original

It is called rotoscoping, it was first invented in 1915 from a guy named Max Fleischer and his brother Dave Fleischer. Max had his brother on his roof with a white sheet behind him and started to dance or something then after he drew out every frame of that dance and the very first rotoscope animation was made. The animation is called My Old Kentucky Home ( fun fact, his brother almost fell off the roof while the animation was being recorded)

Animation styles called rotoscoping. It's a common practice. Even some modern shows have used it

Very awesome technique that added so much realism to a lot of Disney’s projects. Although they most likely didn’t film the entire movie in live action. Usually key scenes which included a lot of movement. In fact, a lot of animators would work on set and do rough sketches of the characters to bring back to their desks.

Oh I remember this because of the dvd collection- they had a TON of deleted scenes and footage from the making of these movies

There are so many, I mean like 10 different live action Alice in Wonderland movies. First one must be a short one from 1900s but the first full length one was from 1915.

Actually, there is an even older live action film of Alice in Wonderland from 1915! It was restored and put onto YouTube, but there are scenes still lost unfortunately. It really gives an analoge horror vibe too lol

"Did you know there's a live action version of Alice in Wonderland?"

Me, who's seen 7 different ones from different decades:

I mean, this was something Disney used to do in their older animated films. Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, and a few other films did this in order to create the animation we see in those movies.

I watched The Little Mermaid version of this and I was shocked too. So for Alice, this is awesome and as expected.
