Easily Control The Mount Position

The most common escape from mount is the elbow escape. Learning to properly pin your opponents shoulder blades is the key to stopping the escape and starting to attack.

This dude explains better than any Brazilian and he doesn't start his vids by saying "Guys"...followed by a 1 minute story. 👍

I know Gordon Ryan talks about the dilemma between Elbow Escapes and Kipping Escapes, especially in NoGi and when they counter the Elbow Escape by pinning the upper chest which makes the hips light. Do you have something in the Gi that prevents the Kipping Escape? I know one could go for a Cross Collar, but I feel like that would have to be really quick against pushing on the hips to Ashi.

I wouldn’t do this Nogi without access to the collar to threaten the choke as the guy on bottom can use a kipping escape.

Works great in the gi though!

True but the elbow escape is so effective because it is still effective even when you apply this principles to it. Elbow escapes are a hack in the grappling matrix

The second that arms goes under the head trap the same side leg then big bridge and roll over same shoulder don't have to worry them moving up just make sure you deal with that arm straight away after the roll or your still in danger from the Ezekiel

But, what about the hip pop to keep the mount unstable to get the push on the hips.

Just here to say I’m glad I’m not the only person on planet earth trying to find out how to not lose mount 😂

This is literally my exact path whenever I reach mount. Then I either transition to a choke or a armbar

But can’t he reverse you on your back when you stuck your chest on him ? In drills im easily reversed in this position
