One of the most commong questions we get from pageant contestants is "am I too Short to Compete?" While most people think you have to be a leggy super model to strut away with the title, beauty queens like Miss USA's Olivia Culpo and Miss Oaklahoma 2011, Betty Thompson have shown us that you can be "fun sized" and still capture the crown! In the Miss Universe stage and Miss World stage is very, very difficult to compete being short. Half of all national franchises within the MUO have height requirements. Miss Venezuela, the most famous national pageant in the world, requires their girls to be at least 5'7". More than 70% of all Miss Venezuelas ever crowned were 5'9" or taller. PS: The current Miss Universe is 5'7" and the current Miss USA is 5'9".

Olivia is 5'7 or 5'5? In Wikipedia it's 5'5, in the show appears "5'7".
In Italy you have to be at least 5'7 to partecipate to Miss Universe :/
