Really enjoyed seeing the effort you put into finding out how the bitrate affects the quality. Thank you!

Finally! A fantastic video on rendering. Thank you! I am going to try this out. I appreciate the into depth analysis and the experimenting you did yourself in the Excel sheets. You got a new subscriber! Cheers!!

Thanks for your video! You helped a lot, especially with the render settings. Keep it up!

I do have a question regarding the colour settings and you seem like the guy who knows the answer:
I'm recording footage in dark games which I want to brighten up for YouTube. I've used your ShadowPlay colour correction preset. It helps with the saturation, but makes the video considerably darker (Gamma 0, 980). So, naturally, I've increased the gamma. However, that quickly caused a tinge of grey.
I then started experimenting with the colour curves, which turned out better, but not quite perfect. I'd attribute that to my incompetence with the settings.
Would you adjust the gamma in the colour corrector or use a colour curve? Do you have templates for dark footage? Or any other idea how to brighten up a video?

thank you very much, this is really useful! I want to ask about video effects for general videos, such as games, vlogs and so on, can you recommend anything other than sharpness, color collector? for better quality

This still works and looks great in Vegas Pro 14!
Also you don't need all that extra color correcting and sharpening but its always cool to have it!

Awesome video man.

I have some issue about pixelate with in my channel.

Man, this rendering 2K right?
Btw would you tell me, What resolution is in the raw data..? The original clip, after you screen recorded it, beforr you render it in this video.
Is it in the resolution 1080p? Or its on the 1440p?

Hey Tech Guids, this might be a stupid question but if I have a 1080p monitor and record my clips in 1080p and then render those settings on 2k, will it do anything? Not for me obviously since I'm on a 1080p monitor but for those with 2k monitors will they have a 2k video or still just 1080p because of the original footage being in 1080p?

Great video btw :D

I start rendering with your settings in 2K res, and my oh my this goes fast.
Before, i was rendering in 1K on some other setting i found on youtube, and it took so long to render a 10 minutes video.
I thought it was my PC, but now i know there is much better render settings. Thank you man.

hi tech guides!
I love your dedication and knowledge on these subjects of video fidelity and all your testing.

I ask this question for you please, how do I upscale my 1080p video to 2k for youtube so that I get the vp09 encoder, I have recorded using obs amazing quality 1080p video with consistent framerate and a good bitrate that gives it a lot of detail in FPS games (25mbps) however I cannot work out how to upscale the video without losing loads of quality, I use sony vegas 14 btw but could upgrade if necessary.

Please let me know if you can help and if not, not to worry, I enjoyed the video :)

Awesome video man! What bitrate should I use for 4k? I've been rendering my videos from MagicYUV lossless project 1080p60 to 4k60 AVC at bitrate 240MB/s using the cpu on vegas 14. I always thought I should use the largest bitrate because YouTube is going to re encode the video anyway, so I try to get it as lossless as possible upon upload, but it's taking about 8 hours to render 4min videos on a Ryzen 5 1600. It's probably time for these new settings. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for making this Video and even going the extra mile by comparing the results with different bitrates. I personally updated to Vegas Pro 16 today and have applied your render Settings. Now I'm having render times that last half as Long as the final Video is, which is simply amazing to me and will help me alot in the future. Greetings from Germany!
