Every Writer Should Know About Scene Sequel Structure

I elaborate on what scene sequel structure is, why you should use it, and provide examples of it in action.

00:00 Introduction
00:29 Proactive Phase
01:57 "Yes, But" and "No, And..."
02:23 Reactive Phase
03:02 Excerpts
05:46 Summary

For those interested in looking into my work, since I used it as the example this time, see here:

This is straight out of Dwight V. Swain's book: Techniques of the Selling Writer. Love that book. Nice video

Thank you so much for making these videos. It reminds me how much knowledge there is to gain. It's quite humbling. In the beginning I was overwhelmed by all the information out there, but I noticed that if I just write, things tend to come together. When something feels off, my mind wanders back to your video's to figure out what is going on. It's such a pleasure to be able to do that.

Why don't you have more subscribers? This video is high quality and the info is well-written. Thanks for making it.

Great video. Couple questions for anyone willing to take the time.
1. The two halves (wisely named proactive/reactive) are meant to be on the very same scene or the reactive part is supposed to be a new scene ?
2. Do all (or most) scene needs to have its sequel or just the important ones ?

I've seen many versions of this structure, but they normally consider scenes and sequels (or proactive and reactive) different scenes. But you consider them two phases of the same scene?

Techniques of the Selling Writer is a great book. Found my copy in a thrift store as it might be OOP

Interesting video - but please speak just a little more slowly - and get a new mic. There is so much competition on YT - sorry but I gave up.
