censorship sucks but tbh considering everything else that's going on, the censorship of genuine disinformation that led to the death of people doesn't rank super high in my list of concerns

Censoring misinformation is a must. Jokes and memes, not so much. But the amount of people who believe false information and actually endanger themselves and others because of it, is rapidly increasing and that is not okay. Social media can't just be left to its own devices. It needs to be moderated.

Censorship during covid 19 not only brought major distrust to the government and science but actively made people dummer and more extreme. I'd argue that censorship did the complete opposite of what they wanted it to do. Shutting people up won't change their mind. Additionally, not being able to have these conversations means not being able to explore and dissect possible holes into people arguments. You should prove why you are right instead of saying I'm right just trust me, because that is how you build distrust amongst the people.
