This Channel, is pure and honest to goodness. You can't find a mechanic on line who goes beyond of our expectation. Explaining in detail tutorial of mechanism and functionality of the cars. Best on YouTube.

Something I respect about the car care nut is in world of fast paced, in your face and flashy youtube videos, he is slow paced, takes his time and is relaxing to listen to and watch

I bet this guy is a great father. He has a way of teaching and explaining in a simple yet informative way while never sounding condescending. Such an overall great person

I always do my break-in oil change at not more than 1K miles. Lots of people think it's crazy but I confirm this is a must do. Lots of metal shavings on that first oil change. I did it on my 2024 4Runner and another one at 3K

Makes me even happier that I’ve maintained my 2013 5.7 meticulously with the help from this very talented, honest mechanic 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Thank you. I have a 2024 tundra with 6, 000 mi. You did exactly what I should have done and what was keeping me up at night. I had Toyota chang my engine oil at 5, 000 but I knew in the back of my head I needed to do it at 500 just to change out the break in oil. At least you put that to rest in my brain. Thank you for being a true car guy

Hey Car Care Nut: Based on a ton of research and even watching your videos, I purchased my first Toyota. I grabbed a White 2025 Toyota Tundra SR5 Crewmax. I think I got an amazing deal. The dealer threw in a Platinum five year warranty (or - as part of their Christmas promotion. I was looking for a basic truck. So I’m happy with it. Thanks for your good videos and honesty. Much appreciated. I tried many other vehicles at the dealerships. But my heart kept saying Toyota. With a five year extended warranty it gives a man a bit of peace lol. Also thank you for being a Believer in these times.

A 1/2 to 3/4 inch fuel line fits right over the bottom of the oil filter drain funnel. Does a great job reducing the mess.

the little spout on the piece under the oil filter is meant for attaching a length of hose down to your oil drain pan. My dad's 2006 Tacoma was like that, with the V6 filter mounted up near the top. It had a little cup under the filter, with a spout, and I kept a piece of hose to attach and route down to my drain pan. Worked great, zero mess.

Was neat to see this Tundra in person at YouTuber's & Coffee in August! Love the 1794!

Replaced my '05 Tundra with a '24 TRD Pro in July. Tow a 5000 lb. toyhauler with it. The danger of towing with the new Tundra is that it is too easy to forget I'm towing a trailer. Effortless pulling over 4, 000 ft. mountain passes here in Washington State. Even better than the power ascending the hill is how the truck uses the engine and transmission to control the speed on the descent. That's what's most impressed me with towing with the new Tundra.

Absolutely love my 1794. No issues and just did first oil change at 5k miles.

You are not old yet! It would be lovely to have you next door to me. All the trustworthy mechanics who are my friends since the 1970s are retiring or dying now. Great channel.

I can’t thank you enough for your no-nonsense approach to everything. My wife and I just bought a 2025 Toyota Crown Hybrid Max, Platinum. Following my own advice and the wisdom of others such as yourself, I have made an appointment for its first oil change. I am fortunate to have a great auto shop near me, and they will be servicing this one vs a Toyota dealership. It may have a little under 900 miles by that time, but I don’t care. It’s our vehicle, and I’m uncomfortable waiting until 5K miles on the odometer before it’s first service. The oil filter dissection was enough to convince me that I’m on the right track. Again, thanks! 🙏🏼

Been a fleet tech at a county government shop for 30 years and maintain 400 vehicles. We do all oil changes at 5k miles from new. Never have we dropped the oil on new vehicles before the 5k mark. I think back in the old days they did that but to each his own. We run our vehicles well into 200k before replacement. No engine issues because we didn't do that first oil change at 1k miles. Like i said, if it makes you feel better about it then by all means, do it!

Nice shout-out to the Wizard. Was curious what AMD thought of his material and, all considered, makes sense if they watch each other's videos for good ideas.

I did my break-in oil change on my 2024 Tundra SR5 a couple weeks ago. The oil made such a mess shooting out of the drain pan, I installed a Fumoto valve for the next time and bought the 15mm ID hose for the oil filter, it made it so much easier than what you did with yours. I highly recommend it.

In the past I have had several Toyota pickups starting in 1986. I now have a 2018 Platinum and it is a pleasure to drive. I am retired so I don't put a lot of miles on the truck but the maintenance is kept to the letter. It has only 63, 000 miles and still looks brand new inside and out. This is the first luxury truck I have ever had and may be the last. Such a fun truck. My son in law has a 2024 Tundra Hybrid and he had the dealer put a 3 inch lift, bigger wheels and tires. Not for me. I love my Tundra just the way it is. Mine is Barcelona Red with total black interior.

After draining oil after break in, pour 1 QT of fresh oil in to drain to clear more debris from oil pan.
